Assistant Facilities Manager (Building Services)
Facilities Department

Major responsibilities

Responsible to assist the Head of Department to plan and manage the operation, maintenance and improvement works in connection with E&M installations in premises and external areas as well as the Capex projects within the jurisdiction of KFBG, inclusive of the Farm and any outside centres managed by KFBG.

Responsibility

  • To lead the E&M Team of around 6-7 staff for the maintenance and operation including improvement works to the existing installation and equipment by new technology for more energy efficiency of the Farm and any outside centres managed by KFBG.
  • To supervise and provide technical support to in-house supervisors and technicians to maintain and upgrade all the Farm's facilities which include Electrical System, Sewerage System, Pool Filtration System, Diesel Generator, HVAC System, Plumbing System, Pumps, Gas Appliances, Kitchen Equipment, Fire Services System, Lift System, Building Management System, ELV System (CCTV, security, AV, telephone , data, carpark control system, ); to attend emergency building services system in case of failure.
  • To monitor and execute E&M preventive maintenance work carried out in-house and by outsourced contractors and to prepare, update and review work plan and progress report for preventive maintenance
  • To ensure full compliance with the latest regulations and statutory requirements including the validity of all licenses, certificates and permits.
  • To provide professional and technical advice for maintenance, minor works and Capex projects; to liaise with various internal users/external stakeholders to obtain user department's operational requirements and to produce simple design proposals for user departments'
  • To prepare budget for the E&M section of the Facilities Department annually and manage the approved budget for timely spending.
  • To draft quotation and tender documents for getting competitive quotes from suppliers and contractors.
  • To supervise the contractors' site works to ensure it is done according to contract specifications and working drawings; to monitor contractor’s works in term of progress, quality and site safety procedures; to inspect completed works; to supervise defects rectification and to arrange take-over and hand-over of facilities/premises.
Job Requirements
  • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of KFBGC;
  • Degree or holders of Higher Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or related discipline;
  • Corporate Membership of the Hong Kong Institute of Engineers (HKIE) in the Electrical/Mechanical/Building Services Division or equivalent is preferable;
  • In-depth knowledge in E&M/building services, energy management, safety regulations, constructure procedures, materials, and details and project management;
  • Five years working experience in E&M/building services engineering field; experience in New Building/Capex project is preferable;
  • Good knowledge in using AutoCAD, BIM and MS Office software;
  • Experience in coordination between in-house departments, consultants, and contractors;
  • Good organizational, interpersonal and time-management skill;
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • Holder of driving license class 1 & 2 preferred;
  • Willing and fit for outdoor duties.
