Bad Weather Contingency▸
1. When a Weather Warning is in Effect
As many areas and experiences within KFBG are outdoors, access arrangements are subject to weather and safety conditions.
If any of the following weather warnings are in effect, or are forecast to take effect within three hours before opening hours, resulting in KFBG being unable to open or operate normally, the relevant day’s free admission arrangement or parts of the visit experience may be cancelled, suspended or adjusted:
- Strong Wind Signal No. 3.
- Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above.
- Landslip Warning.
- Red Rainstorm Warning.
- Black Rainstorm Warning.
Under the following warnings, KFBG’s Lower Farm may remain open, while access to the Upper Farm or selected routes/areas may be suspended. Visitors are advised to assess conditions carefully and follow on-site instructions:
- Yellow Rainstorm Warning.
- Thunderstorm Warning.
- Standby Signal No. 1.
Visitors are advised to pay close attention to weather conditions before setting out. Any changes or special arrangements will be announced through KFBG’s official communication channels as appropriate.
2. No Formal Warning in Effect
Even when no formal weather warning is in force, weather and environmental conditions may still affect access to certain areas, self-guided routes, exhibitions or anniversary experiences.
Situation 1: Heavy Rain Forecast on the Visit Day
If the weather forecast indicates a high likelihood of heavy rain or unsafe conditions, KFBG may cancel or adjust the relevant day’s free admission arrangement, route access or outdoor experiences in advance to ensure visitor safety.
Situation 2: Light Rain Forecast on the Visit Day
If light or intermittent rain is forecast, KFBG will generally remain open, subject to on-site risk assessment. Certain outdoor routes, exhibitions or areas may be adjusted or temporarily suspended depending on actual conditions.
Situation 3: Unexpected Rain or Sudden Weather Changes on the Visit Day
If unexpected rain or sudden weather changes occur, KFBG may continue to operate with adjustments. However, visitors should make their own assessment based on their health, physical condition and the actual weather situation before proceeding with their visit.
Visitors should decide whether to visit based on their own health and physical condition. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us ensure the safety of all visitors, staff, animals and the natural environment.
