Weed to Wonder: Natural Dyeing Workshop
Online Application

In Hong Kong, every plant labelled as an ‘invasive species’ has its own story to tell. These plants, common in their homeland, found their way here through chance or human intervention. With their vigorous vitality, they spread across this foreign land, and their aggressive growth has earned them the label of ‘invasive.’ Yet, who remembers that in their original homes, these were simply ordinary but beautiful plants?

Through our natural dyeing workshop, we aim to reinvent the value of these in Hong Kong. Using artisanal techniques and creativity, we extract their unique hues, rediscovering forgotten beauty and enabling their transformation, bringing their inherent brilliance back to life. Join our workshop to explore the distinctive charm of these invasive species, create one-of-a-kind pieces and gain a fresh perspective on these misunderstood living beings as we write their new chapter in the dye vat.
