Benny graduated with a bachelor of Biochemistry and obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in plant physiology from The University of Hong Kong. He is interested in using molecular techniques to provide support for biodiversity conservation. He has been working on genetic identification of lab specimens from plants and animal species, and analysis of trade data to understand trends in wildlife trade.
