JCNCC Planted Landscape Concept
This landscape boasts perhaps the most diverse collection of native plants in any of Hong Kong's built environments. It demonstrates the potential of using our rich local flora, benefiting plant conservation and the many species that rely on this ecosystem.
Selected for both beauty and ecological function, these plants provide essential resources for wildlife. The landscape offers nectar, pollen, and host plants for insects, alongside food and roosts for birds and mammals.
In the video, look for Rattleweed (Crotalaria retusa). This lowland herb features upright stems and bright yellow flowers. Its toxic leaves attract several native butterflies, including Blue Tigers (Tirumala limniace), Common Tigers (Danaus genutia), and Blue Spotted Crows (Euploea midamus).
