Flora Conservation Department
I’m an ecologist with a focus on plant ecology in tropical forests. My research interests are secondary succession, ecological restoration, plant phenology, tree growth, seed dispersal, plant functional traits and landscape ecology. I obtained my PhD in the Federal University of Paraná, Brazil, with an exchange period in the University of Connecticut, USA. During my PhD, I studied the factors that affect forest restoration in the Atlantic Forest, in southern Brazil. At KFBG, I’m working in our tree-planting sites to investigate key drivers of restoration success to help in the planning of effective restoration actions in the region.
