Together with six horticulturalists, I manage KFBG’s living collection of almost 10,000 orchid accessions, which are spread across three nurseries, a display garden and one greenhouse. Our priority is to grow threatened orchids of Hong Kong and South China, as well as interesting species of Indochina, Thailand and other tropical countries. We conduct hand-pollinations to obtain seeds for micropropagation, and we cultivate seedlings for public education, research and reintroduction.
