It is my pleasure to join the Biochar Team of the Flora Conservation Department at KFBG. Despite only being here for a brief two to three years, I have had the privilege of participating in numerous large-scale reforestation projects. Through these experiences, I understand that a rich biodiversity forest is much more valuable than monoculture. In addition, I have also worked alongside engineers and colleagues in maintaining the biochar machine. This is the first biochar machine in Hong Kong. It was built over seven years ago and had been out of operation for some time due to mechanical issues. Drawing upon my past maintenance experience, I successfully restored its functionality. The capabilities of biochar extend far beyond its primary functions, it has opened my eyes to many other aspects and broadened my horizons significantly.
