Circle of Life: Connecting with tree (Group Application)

Everything has its time. Immerse yourself in the intricate life cycles of the natural world, gain wisdom and harmony, and cultivate a deeper bond with nature through enriching experiences that include tree tours, potted plant cultivation, culinary delights, and artisanal woodworking. Dive into sustainable practices, explore nature-based solutions, nurture a heightened sense of responsibility and conservation awareness, and unite in the battle against climate change. Embark on a transformative journey to establish profound connections with nature, embrace the seamless flow of life, and champion sustainable development.

Content (Suggestion Duration: 6 hours)

  • Native Flora Discovery: Guided Tour through Indigenous Trees and Plants (60 minutes)
    Participants are led by experienced guides on a stroll among native trees, gaining an understanding of various tree species and the interdependent ecology of nature.
  • Life's Renewal Path: Compost and Biochar Zone Exploration (30 minutes)
    Gain an understanding of the life journey of trees from growth to decay and transformation, while learning about the possibilities of natural cycles and resource utilisation.
  • Sow and Grow: Herb Pot Design Workshop (30 minutes)
    Design herbal potted plants hands-on to learn basic planting knowledge, and take them home to nurture and enjoy.
  • From Farm to Cup: Organic Herb Experience (30 minutes)
    From garden to cup, brew nature's essence in a dance of flavors and fragrances. Connect with the earth's bounty through herbal tea magic.
  • Lunchtime: Vegan Delights (60 minutes)
    Options: Vegan Bento (no extra cost) or Self-Serve Green Delights (additional cost)
    Indulge in a vegan bento provided by the Eat Well Canteen of Green Hub, offering delicious and nutritionally balanced meals to deepen the connection with nature. Participants can also order self-serve vegetarian options, selecting from a variety of seasonal dishes according to personal preferences, enjoying the flavours of the season in a free flow and self-serve dining format. Together, take action to reduce carbon footprints, protect natural resources, and practise sustainable living.
  • Recycled wood upcycling workshop (120 minutes)
    Transforming recycled wood into art, whispering stories of sustainability. Craft your vision into reality, blending creativity with environmental harmony.

  • We encourage visitors to use public transportation to reduce carbon footprint. Click HERE for details.
  • Parking spaces are extremely limited at our venue. Participants must reserve parking spaces online in advance.
  • If needed, shuttle bus services (additional cost) can be arranged to and from our venue and Kowloon Tong Station/ Tai Po Market Station.

  • Payment is not refundable after acceptance, unless the programme is cancelled due to inclement weather.
  • Please be reminded that people with G6PD Deficiency need to state this clearly on the application form.

  • Kadoorie Earth Programme (KEP) is an initiative co-created by KFBG and its network of collaborators and volunteers. By integrating the various strands of KFBG’s nature conservation, sustainable living and holistic education programmes, it provides life-transforming learning experiences that reconnect people with themselves, each other and the rest of nature and enable them to cultivate resilience in the face of global challenges.
  • Nature Art Programmes: Immerse yourself in silent contemplation of nature. Deepen your awareness of beauty and connect with nature through art. KFBG organises a variety of art workshops including Zentangle drawing, sketching and wood art, and exhibitions to guide participants, with or without artistic background, to create nature art.
  • Nature Education Programmes: Become animal detectives and explore the mysteries of wild animals. Use different senses to discover the beauty of plants. Learn about the significance of forest, trees and even soils through field visits, experiments and woodwork, to reconnect with nature.
  • Group Guided Tours: Led by trained environmental interpreters, the content includes experiential and hands-on activities. We encourage a passion for nature, conservation and ecology by nurturing an appreciation of the natural world.

  • Corporate Programmes: Our Holistic Education Department staff can design either half-day or full-day nature education and art programmes for  corporate staff or their family members based on specific needs. Leveraging the unique natural landscape and cultural ambiance of Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden, our activities may include guided tours, farm-to-table experiences, nature-based workshops, talks and art activities, aiming to promote understanding and practice of sustainable living for organisations.
