Upcycled timber, reclaimed from KFBG
Crafted with care by local studio CHICHOIMAO, this wide magnetic wooden rail is fashioned from locally recycled timber supplied by Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden. Its elegant horizontal profile is designed to display multiple memos, postcards and photographs side by side, or firmly secure a single A4 sheet, bringing a serene, warm order to your home or workspace.
Marbles, gravity, and one flip
At the heart of its design lies one of nature’s purest forces. Tucked quietly inside the rail is a row of roughly ten smooth glass marbles. Simply slide your paper into the angled groove, and the marbles respond to gravity, rolling downwards to form a gentle yet secure hold. When it is time to change your display, simply tilt the rail 180 degrees; the marbles roll smoothly to the opposite end, releasing their grip. Every turn becomes a tactile delight, a charming little ritual for your everyday routine.
Magnets neatly embedded in the back allow the rail to attach effortlessly to refrigerators, metal pegboards or office lockers. Each piece is nourished with safe, food-grade wood wax oil to preserve the unique, warm grain of the recycled timber. Meticulously sanded by hand, every edge feels soft and rounded, reflecting CHICHOIMAO’s signature ethos: finding rich detail within quiet simplicity.
