In response to the community’s recovery needs following the Wang Fuk Court fire incident in Tai Po, Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden has launched Nature as Companion: Community Wellbeing Support Programme, providing gentle, nature-based wellbeing support for individuals and communities affected by the incident.
We recognise that essential material and housing support has largely been arranged through the government and other charitable organisations. However, recovery is a process that takes time, and emotional responses may continue to surface after the incident. As time progresses, the community’s need for medium- to long-term emotional companionship and restoration, as well as opportunities to engage in meaningful yet low-pressure activities, often becomes increasingly important. Drawing on KFBG’s tranquil and inclusive natural environment, the programme offers low-intensity, non-clinical wellbeing support through experiential activities such as forest therapy, nature-based expressive arts, parent-child nature play sessions and guided nature walks. These initiatives are made possible by the generous donation of Tai Ping Carpets Limited, allowing nature to serve as a steady and compassionate presence throughout the recovery process.
All activities are offered at no cost, and organisations can inquire about schedules, book dedicated sessions or refer service users to suitable activities. Participation is voluntary and handled with care and confidentiality.
This activity's details are currently available in Traditional Chinese only. Click HERE for details.

- Nature Art Programmes: Immerse yourself in silent contemplation of nature. Deepen your awareness of beauty and connect with nature through art. - Corporate Programmes: Our Holistic Education Department staff can design either half-day or full-day nature education and art programmes for corporate staff or their family members based on specific needs. Leveraging the unique natural landscape and cultural ambiance of Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden, our activities may include guided tours, farm-to-table experiences, nature-based workshops, talks and art activities, aiming to promote understanding and practice of sustainable living for organisations.
