
Project Officer / Senior Project Officer (24-Month Contract)

We are seeking a passionate individual contributor for a funded programme that aims to support and build the capacity of selected local primary schools in developing pedagogical materials for the newly introduced science curriculum, with a strong focus on experiential learning. Reporting to the Programme Manager (School & Public), the incumbent will oversee and implement the programme end-to-end.
Major responsibilities
- Building and maintaining relationships with the funder, Education Bureau, local primary school leaders and teachers, external trainers, KFBG senior management, and other stakeholders.
- Communicating with school leaders to understand teaching needs and customizing strategic plans to support schools' teaching and learning activities.
- Sourcing local and international trainers and organizations to provide professional development activities related to nature conservation, sustainable development, experiential learning, and other relevant topics.
- Developing branding, marketing, and promotional materials (e.g., leaflets, posters, brochures) for the programme, working closely with external designers.
- Creating a user-friendly, content-rich mini-website for hosting pedagogical materials, in collaboration with external website developers/agencies.
- Curating exhibitions and events at KFBG and external locations, such as schools and communities, from concept to execution.
- Designing and implementing programme evaluation frameworks, conducting evaluations through surveys, focus groups, and interviews, and synthesizing findings into comprehensive reports.
- Preparing progress reports and updates in various formats for key stakeholders.
- Assisting in strategizing and planning for the next phase(s) of the funded programme.
- Handling general programme logistics and administration.
- Collaborating closely with colleagues in the Holistic Education Department, including those managing Kadoorie Earth Programme (KEP), art programmes, and transformative wellbeing initiatives.
- Assisting in receiving special visitors to KFBG when required.
- Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor to support departmental and organizational operations.
Job Requirements
- A degree in Social Sciences, Education, Business Administration, Environmental Science, or related disciplines.
- At least 8 years of experience in coordinating and delivering funded projects, community projects, or education activities; experience in forming partnerships, building teacher and school capacity is a plus.
- Strong alignment with values related to sustainable development, talent development, and making a positive impact on the world.
- Excellent storytelling, information gathering, and analytical skills.
- Open-mindedness, a strong growth mindset, resilience, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Outstanding planning and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Canva, and Chinese word processing.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with fluency in written and spoken Chinese and English.
- Physically fit to work in outdoor environments.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and a strong team player who can also work independently.
- Respectful of diverse spiritual paths and beliefs.
- Flexibility to work on weekends and public holidays.
- Possession of a valid Type I or II driving license is an advantage.
- Advanced software skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro are a bonus.
- Candidates with less experience will be considered for the Project Officer role.
Additional Information
- Candidates who complete the full contract period will receive an end-of-contract gratuity.
- Exceptional performance may lead to an opportunity to extend the contract into the next phase of the funded programme.
