Major responsibilities
This is an individual contributor role. The incumbent will report to Senior Art Education Officer.
- To develop, organize and conduct nature art education projects, artist-in-residence programme, music/art camps, and workshops for schools, professional groups and community participation in environmental awareness programmes in support of the KFBG Mission;
- To organize and conduct experiential activities, and art-related programmes for children, youth and adults at the Art House;
- To handle programme logistics and administrations, including promotion, application and evaluation;
- To manage activity booths with education officers, part-time programme assistants and nature education volunteers (daily – includes Sundays and/or Public Holidays and/or special events);
- To assist the Senior Education Officer in curating content for the Kadoorie Earth Programme (KEP), art exhibition and performance programmes;
- Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor from time to time such as support the operations of residential retreats etc.
- To assist the Senior Education Officer and Head of the Education Department on general administrative matters.
- To receive special visitors of KFBG whatever required;
Job Requirements
- Degree in Education, Experiential Education, Sociology, Art Administration, Environmental Science or related disciplines;
- Minimum 3 years of solid experience in coordinating and delivering community projects/ education/ team building activities;
- Proficiency in computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Canvas and Chinese Word Processing;
- Excellent software skills such as the use of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro would be an advantage;
- Experienced in woodwork would be an advantage;
- A valid Type I or II driving license would be an advantage;
- Good communication and organizational skills;
- Fluent in written and spoken Chinese and English;
- Physically fit to work in the outdoor environment;
- Well organized and detail-minded;
- Proactive and able to work independently and a good team player;
- Open-minded and recognize the validity of all spiritual paths;
- Able to work at weekends and public holidays;
- Candidate with less experience would be considered for the Assistant Education Officer role.
