The Chicken Display is dedicated to the memory of Norman F. Wright who helped establish the experimental livestock and poultry breeding programmes in the Farm's early days, when our 'Paak Ngau Shek Special' was developed by crossing the local Wai Chow chicken with the imported New Hampshire. Today, our Chicken Section conserves the genetic lines of four rare local breeds.

Please note that KFBG does not sell chickens and that Kamei chickens are not Kadoorie Farm chickens; if any vendors in HK claim to be selling Kadoorie Farm Chickens they are breaking the law, please give us and the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department the details of the vendor.
