Side by Side In Harmony|Visit to the Wild Animal Rescue Centre

This is a rare opportunity to explore the wonders and fragility of nature while experiencing unique stories of life.

KFBG’s Wild Animal Rescue Centre (WARC) is the only non-government wildlife rescue centre operating in the Hong Kong SAR under a special licence from the Director of the Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department (AFCD). The centre is equipped with a veterinary hospital, quarantine facilities, animal-holding enclosures and rehabilitation facilities. Whether it’s injured wildlife or snakes that have wandered into urban areas, they will all be brought to the WARC for examination and treatment after being rescued. Therefore, WARC serves as the last fortress for wildlife. As the centre is usually closed to the public, it remains a mysterious and sacred place that few have seen.

As a special visiting activity designed for the ‘Side by Side In Harmony: Snakes, Nature & Us’ exhibition, you will be accompanied by our staff for an in-depth tour of the WARC, focusing on understanding the operations of our wild snake rescue programme. You'll have the chance to witness up close our conservation officers demonstrating the ‘snake box opening’ procedure (subject to whether any snakes are brought to the rescue centre before the activity), and get a close encounter with our education ambassador – Ball Python – experiencing its vitality firsthand.

Whether you're an animal enthusiast, nature explorer, or simply someone looking to experience something new, we look forward to sharing with you the wonder and preciousness of life.
