Next to the Eat Well Café, you will find displays of animals rescued from the illegal and cruel wild animal trade.

They have been exported from their country of origin by criminals, seeking only profit. They are traded for food, exotic pets or wildlife products in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

For every live wild animal you see on sale in a market or shop, many others would have died during capture, transportation or confinement.

When possible we return rescued wild animals to their home range. We also collaborate with other institutions around the world to put rare animals into breeding programmes.

We suggest that you become fully present and spend several minutes observing these animals.

You can help by not buying wild animals, or medicines that contain wild animal parts.
