Assistant Education Officer / Education Officer – Early Childhood

Job Summary

The Assistant Education Officer / Education Officer will play a vital role in the Holistic Education Department at KFBG, supporting our mission to harmonize the relationship between people and nature. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing early childhood education programmes, including the development and delivery of a range of nature-based and themed playgroups. This role requires a creative and passionate individual with experience in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering personal and communal connections with nature. Additionally, the incumbent will support the development and delivery of various well-being-related projects, including forest immersion walks, mindfulness-based activities, yoga, and body movement programmes.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Design engaging and developmentally appropriate activities that promote nature connection for young children.
  • Develop and implement nature-based playgroup programmes for early-year children in the classroom and outdoors.
  • Incorporate aspects of art, music, and meditation into educational programmes to promote holistic learning.
  • Work with local and overseas teachers to co-design and co-deliver well-being and holistic growth projects.
  • To support the development and delivery of well-being projects, including forest immersion walks, mindfulness activities, yoga, and body movement activities.
  • Assist in crafting and enhancing educational programmes, workshops, and retreats focused on sustainability, nature connection, and holistic education.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to build partnerships and develop diverse educational programmes.
  • Coordinate with nature education volunteers to support various educational activities.
  • Participate in and help organize outreach events and exhibitions to extend KFBG’s educational impact within the community.
  • Maintain records, prepare reports, and handle other administrative duties as required to ensure smooth operation of the education programmes.
  • Ensure all educational activities comply with safety standards and promote a safe learning environment for participants and staff.

Job Requirements:

  • A degree in early childhood education, social work, counselling, geography, environmental Science, or related fields.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in early childhood education, environmental education, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences, from young children to mature adults.
  • Knowledge and capacity to deliver mindfulness-based activities, yoga, and body movement work.
  • Proficiency in Chinese and English, both written and spoken.
  • Open-minded and open-hearted towards different faiths, beliefs, and religions, with a willingness to learn about various spiritual growth pathways.
  • Passionate about environmental conservation and holistic education.
  • Creative, enthusiastic, and adaptable.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically fit for outdoor activities.
  • Willingness to work on weekends or public holidays as needed.
  • Commitment to the values and mission of KFBG.
  • Participation in team activities to foster a positive organizational culture.
  • Possess a valid driving license.
