Assistant Facilities Manager (Security and Safety)
Facilities Department

Major responsibilities

This is a management role that integrates site safety, health with site security and day‑to‑day operations and the daily aspects of nature conservation. This position offers a wider scope of responsibilities – from safety and security planning to frontline operational support and nature conservation – making it an excellent opportunity for career growth. The incumbent will report to “Operations Manager”.

Safety Management

  • Establish, implement, and maintain the site’s safety management system, ensuring full compliance with KFBG’s vision and mission.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, identify potential hazards in KFBG, and recommend appropriate control measures.
  • Oversee incident/accident investigations, prepare investigation reports, ensure the implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs to improve staff and contractor safety awareness on policies and regulations at KFBG.
  • Prepare safety reports, documentation, permits and regularly monitor, analyse and report safety performance metrics to management.
  • Liaise and coordinate with various stakeholders (e.g., government departments, contractors) on safety matters.

Security and Operations Management

  • Supervise, manage and motivate the security team to ensure a safe, secure and well-managed environment across KFBG.
  • Prepare duty rosters to ensure optimal manpower planning and daily performance.
  • Responsibility Ensure reliability of security systems (e.g., access control, CCTV).
  • Handle emergency response and incident management with contingency plans development to minimize operational disruption.
  • Conduct regular security audits and review/improve security procedures and guidelines to strengthen site resilience and emergency preparedness.

Cross-functional Support

  • Actively participate in daily site operations and support frontline activities.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external service providers to ensure seamless daily operations and event support.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned to support operational and organizational needs.

Job Requirements

  • Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of KFBGC.
  • Higher Diploma / Associate Degree or above in Occupational Health & Safety, Facilities Management, Security Management, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in the construction industry or related sectors (e.g., frontline supervision, site supervision) in both safety and security management.
  • Holder of a “Safety Supervisor Certificate (Construction)” or “Construction Safety Supervisor Certificate” (issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Council or the Construction Industry Council).
  • Holder of Security Personnel Permit (SPP) and QAS Certificate.
  • Holder of Green Card (Mandatory Basic Safety Training Certificate).
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Proficient in MS Office and general computer operations.
  • Willing to work on weekends and public holidays on a shift basis to manage the security team and be involved in actual operations.
  • Self‑motivated, able to work independently, and perform well under pressure.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and physically fit to navigate natural hillside environment.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Holder of a light vehicle driving license
  • Holder of a valid First Aid and AED certificate is an advantage.
