Meet Our Happy Residents: Piers Jacobs Wildlife Sanctuary

The newly renovated Piers Jacobs Wildlife Sanctuary (PJWS) has been upgraded to provide an even more enriching environment for the rescued animals and a more comfortable, immersive experience for you. It is a wonderful opportunity for children to learn about compassion and conservation.

Say “Hello!” to Our Conservation Ambassadors

Our resident barking deer, Didi and Sasa, are now enjoying their newly landscaped homes. We’ve added large tree trunks and logs to encourage their natural behaviours.

The Thinking Behind the PJWS Upgrade

The sanctuary is dedicated to providing professional animal welfare and care. The upgrades not only enhance animal comfort but also incorporate sustainable design elements that also serve as educational insights:

Comfort and foot health We use special soft bedding made of compost and straw that is softer on animals’ paws.
Green airflow design We’ve installed solar roof fans and barn roof ridge vents to ensure fresh airflow.

Supporting Local Wildlife Conservation

Your visit to the upgraded PJWS allows you to see how we create better living spaces for rescued wildlife and learn about Hong Kong’s biodiversity in a fun and educational way. As your children explore the animals’ new homes, they will gain a deeper respect and appreciation for nature.
