Part-time Kitchen Assistant
Sustainable Living Department

Major responsibilities

The incumbent will report to “Executive Chef”.

Responsibility

  • Follow guidance of the Executive Chef and Chef to learn how to prepare and produce vegetarian food in a low-carbon manner.
  • Responsible for daily operation of the Eat Well Canteen at Green Hub on food preparation, front line sales, housekeeping, and handling of customer enquiry.
  • Ensure overall cleanliness and hygiene standards.

Job Requirements

  • Community people interested in transitioning to sustainable fields.
  • Experience in vegetarian cooking, processing of organic food product and low carbon cookery is an advantage.
  • Mature, flexible, proactive.
  • Good communication skills, able to work well independently and in a team environment.
  • Good command of Cantonese (knowledge of English and/or Putonghua will be an advantage).
  • Passion for nature and sustainable living.
  • Short-term contract. Work during the canteen's operating hours to cover personnel needs. Must be available to work on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
  • Work approximately 1-3 days per month.
  • Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of KFBG.
