Sustainable Living Senior Officer / Officer (Food Programme)

Major responsibilities

The Officer will play a vital role in the Green Hub of KFBG, supporting our mission to promote sustainable living through developing and implementing food education programmes, including Eat Well programmes for schools, groups and public. He or she will need to manage the development of volunteer communities in order to enhance their capacity for providing education services. She/ he will report to “Green Hub Manager (Visitor experience) ”.

  • Design, manage and implement a range of food education workshops and programmes for people of various ages and backgrounds to facilitate their transition to sustainable living.
  • Lead and train a team of facilitators and volunteers to continuously improve the quality and capacitiy of food education programmes for school sector.
  • Establish and maintain a network community groups, schools and organizations. Engage relevant experts to develop sustainable food programmes.
  • Working with the Green Hub visitor experience team to develop and execute various sustainable living programmes, handle ad-hoc projects and undertake any other duties assigned by supervisor.
  • 5-day work per week. Working on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays is essential. Required to work residentially occasionally.
Job Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Environmental science, Nutrition or related discipline.
  • At least three years of solid experience in developing and executing education programmes.  Candidates with more experience will be considered for the position of senior officer.
  • Experience in volunteer management and community engagement is an advantage.
  • Passionate about sustainable living, good knowledge of sustainable food system and food education.
  • Strong organizing skills and interpersonal skills, able to interact with people in a positive, inspirational way.
  • Mature, self-motivated, dynamic, a good team player and be able to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Chinese and English, both written and spoken. (knowledge of Mandarin will be an advantage)
  • Computer literacy is essential. Knowledge of computer skills including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop will be an advantage.
  • Physically fit for outdoor activities
  • Open minded and recognize the validity of all spiritual paths.
  • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of KFBGC.
  • Valid Type I or II driving license is an advantage.
