Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden presents “Dancing with Snakes” Exhibition from 8th to 21st July 2013 at JockeyClub Creative Arts Centre, aiming to raise the concern for snakes and to present their important role in nature.
Since ancient times, snakes have held great significance in human culture. Serpents have been worshipped as deities in some cultures, and, snakes are recognized as symbols of strength and power in folklore and mythology. However, many people have forgotten these connections and generally have a negative perception of snakes. In reality, snakes play a significant role in maintaining a sustainable balance in the ecosystem.
“Dancing with Snakes” Exhibition is an educational and interactive programme where visitors can explore the culture and biology of snakes and learn about snake conservation. Besides, they can have a close contact experience with live snakes and participate in interesting snake art and craft workshops.
