Co-creating Sustainable Futures
Sustainable Living

We believe personal change and societal change are deeply connected. By understanding our relationship with nature, recognising the impact of our actions on current and future generations, and embracing elegant, simple, responsible lifestyles, we can move towards a more sustainable future.

A Paradigm Shift

From what is to what if

Guided by permaculture ethics and design principles, KFBG’s Sustainable Living Programme raises awareness about the impact of our actions and rebuilds connections to support a collective transition towards a life-sustaining society.

Since its launch in the mid-2000s, the programme has aligned onsite farming with KFBG’s mission through research on ecological footprint, carbon sequestration, and established sustainable systems for wastewater and organic resource recovery.

Regenerative agriculture now supports holistic estate management while serving as a platform for training, demonstration projects, and wider community impact through community supported agriculture scheme and farmers market.

Revitalisation & Collaboration

Community Programme

The launch of the KFBG Green Hub in 2015 marked a key milestone. Through permaculture-led revitalisation of the Old Tai Po Police Station, the award-winning project offers a model of holistic conservation and inclusive urban design.

As a community base for sustainable living, the KFBG Green Hub supports local initiatives and connects with permaculturists worldwide to promote accessible and practical solutions.

Sustainable Habits

Start by Eating Well

Food is a powerful place to begin and eating mindfully can make a meaningful difference. KFBG Food Hub, Eat Well Café and Eat Well Canteen demonstrate sustainable food operations while promoting healthy, low-carbon diets.

A living philosophy

In returning to its founding principles, KFBG demonstrates that sustainable living is not a checklist, but a continuous process of empowerment, connection, and care. In a rapidly changing world, it offers a hopeful path forward—one grounded in resilience, regeneration, and a deep respect for the interdependence of life.
